The Environment
At SBU we are continuously striving to reduce our impact on
the environment. By constantly monitoring our procedures, we
can ensure that impact is always minimal. These efforts have
resulted in us successfully achieving the ISO 14001 accreditation,
which shows the company recognises the importance of an effective
Environmental Management System (EMS).
Quality
SBU has established, documented and implemented a Quality Management
System which complies with the International quality standard
gaining them ISO 9001certification.
Investors in People
In recognition of the key role our people play in the success of the
business, SBU has been awarded the Investors in People certification since 2004.
Corporate & Social Responsibility
SBU aspires to manage our social, ethical and environmental
responsibilities by upholding the following key principles.

The Community
SBU's commitment to the local communities at both our offices and site
locations is an important part of our business. This is recognised
in our donating of time and materials to joint venture programs
that support school and memorial projects.
Sponsorships are regularly made and include:-
Bilton Cricket Club, Unicorns Netball Team, Knaresborough Celtic
Junior Football Team, Knaresborough Golf Second Team,
SBU's Football Team, Leeds Raynos Player, Harrogate Crown Green Bowls,
Alan Howell's Track Car, as well as donations to local
schools and cancer charities. SBU support the Knaresborough
Annual Bed Race, and have raised funds for St Michaels
Hospice, Epilepsy and Motor Neurone Disease.
